Wow!! It has been a year since I have posted on this thing. I swear I've been around. I constantly think of things to post on here but never do since it has been so long. Do I still have peeps that read this? Even if there is no one who reads this I'm going make this my online journal if nothing else.
Here's a quick glimpse as to what has been happening since we left off:
Feb 2010

Found a house we loved and put a contract down
March

Two weeks in Europe for our honeymoon was fabulous. I want to do it again now!
June
Hubby's parents filed for divorce. Boo ;(

We hosted Christmas for the first time
January
Annual New Years Eve party
We celebrated being together for 9 years
February
Celebrated my 25th birthday. It was pretty low key. We went to the Texas Roller Derby for the first time. It was a lot of fun. Highly recommend going, just get there early.
March
Gearing up for the wedding season. We are at that age when many of our friends are getting hitched. We have 4 weddings to attend this year so far. We are blessed to be participating in 2 and possibly 1 more towards the end of the year.
It's been a busy year but I love my life right now!
Photos of most of these events coming soon!!
Sorry it has been so long

Final Countdown
We are now well into the teens of this countdown to the wedding. According to my handy-dandy ticker we down to 17 days! Way exciting in my book. So what does this bride-to-be do with 17 days left you might ask...
Not a whole lot.
I just finished emailing my final vendor about final balances. Those payments will be made within the next week (my bank account doesn't like this part). 98% of the DIY projects were finished a few weeks ago and are now packed away in our loft area happily labeled with directions for my ideal placement. I'm sure our coordinator thinks I'm crazy. Purchased trip insurance on our honeymoon since that pesky little volcano decided to spew ash in the sky and close down the airspace in Northern Europe, which is where we are slated to fly into! Mother panicked and said that I had to purchase this, at her expense I might add, so I obliged.
Things left to do (lists with bullet points! aka how I stayed sane through this whole thing):
*Procure marriage license-to happen next week
*Bachelor/Bachelorette parties - this weekend
*Shopping & packing for the honeymoon - already started
*Final head counts - in the process of calling all of the missing
*Stuffing utensil bags -waiting on caterer to give me the OK to come by and pick up utensils.
*Finishing gift bags for the girls - all the stuff is purchased, just need C's aunt to embroider their names on the bags.
*Purchase my mom's birthday/mother's day/thank you gift - I'm getting her the Barnes and Noble Nook Reader. She's a huge reader and travels quite a bit so I figured this would be perfect and I get a discount with B&N through work!
*Enjoy every minute of these last two weeks as a single gal!
I can't wait!

Catch up
Ahhh…we’re 31 days out people. In 31 days I’m going to be walking down the aisle to meet my best friend and become his wife! I’ve waited 8 years to do this and I’m ecstatic about it. But…there is so much going on right now to get through these 31 days.
My goals and things to do:
*Have all of the wedding DIY things completed by April 30. Very do-able. I have a great support group that I haven’t used yet and I know they are all chomping at the bit to help. The list is getting shorter every day. So this weekend they are coming over to help put together programs and any other projects that I need completed.
*Organize everything for the wedding into boxes and label, label, label. Oh the joys of moving into a much larger house just before your wedding, completely empty extra bedrooms! One of ours has now become “wedding central” as I like to call it or its other nicknames “wedding room” or “room full of crap” on bad days. Everything is in a pile sitting next to its box. I just need to sit down and make up lists and detailed instructions as to where everything should go. This list also needs to go to the coordinator sooner than later.
*Confirming with vendors about balances, arrival times, and finalizing orders.
*Rehearsal dinner invites left yesterday. Very cute for the 30minutes worth of work and design that were put into them. Definitely work into the feel we were going for since our RD will be at Iron Works BBQ. Yum Yum.
*Final dress fitting is scheduled for May 3! Down fall…it’s 2 days after Bachelorette party and complete intoxication from what I’ve been told by the girls.
*Guys are getting their suits altered. Now we need to finalize and find all of Carl’s accessories (shoes, belt, and hat). We finally found the socks that he wanted after months of searching and debates. And what did we end up with…the exact ones we talked about at the very beginning. Whatevs.
*Marriage license. Big thing!
*Tracking down some 8oz bottled Dublin Dr. Pepper for a decent price. I’ve looked online to have it shipped from Dublin but I’m not willing to spend $100 in shipping charges. For that price I would just drive to Dublin, but I don’t have the time to do so. Any one know where this could be found, please let me know. It’s the last major missing thing.
Weight loss
I officially weighted myself this morning and I’m sitting at 146.4 lbs. Not too bad. I haven’t done any WW since coming back from New Orleans. I’ve tried to get back into it, but I fail when we drive past Torchy’s Tacos or Chik-fila. I’ve been doing some crunches, leg lifts, and push ups every night at home. I feel like my tummy is going down and I don’t look so bloated. We have a gym in our neighborhood, but I have yet to use it. I’m hoping after this week and all of the vendor meetings and DIY stuff done I can hit it up. I would love to start the Couch to 5K program, but we will see. I could definitely use a stress release in all of this.

The invites
The invitations have mostly gone out. My mom STILL hasn't given me her list. We're 7 weeks out and I have already received many RSVPs back.
Here are my results of my blood, sweat, and tears. Not really but lots of time.
Do I love them? YES
Would I do it all over again? Probably not.

Front cover

Actual invite with hand stamped and embossed sunflower.

Oh the twists and turns of life
I’ve been slacking on updates lately, but I have a good excuse I promise. We’re buying a house! We are officially under contract and have an inspection today and a meeting with our loan officer as well. Things at home have been a little crazy and have taken many twists that we weren’t expecting. We’re super excited, but I’m totally fretting over the financing. Carl is totally cool and calm, while I’m the ball of nerves, up wide awake at 2:30 this morning.
Weight Watchers: This week I weighed in at 145.2lbs. I’m pretty happy with only losing a pound this week. I have definitely fallen off the past week. Eating Chick Fila, Wendy’s, cupcakes, ribs and queso at the Super Bowl Party, and Dr Peppers didn’t help the weight loss plan. I’ve been a little stressed with the house buying and my go to foods when stressed are high fat and high salt. Even though they taste amazing and I needed a little taste of the goodness that these foods provide, I didn’t need them all in one week. Next week is going to be a non-Weight Watchers Week for my Birthday/Bachelorette weekend to New Orleans!
Wedding: My dress came in!!!!!!! I have my first fitting tomorrow. All of my bridesmaids and my mom will be there. No one has seen the dress except for my mom. The rehearsal dinner is in the final stages of being planned. Thank goodness! More decorative items are being completed including our reserved seating signs, bar menu, aisle décor, and menu board. The invitations are nearing the final stages and should be out the door on March 15, which is also our closing day. Things are finally starting to come together and I’m getting really excited for the wedding in 92 days! Holy cow it’s coming fast!

WWT
It’s WW Tuesday already! I’m pleased to report that my weight for the week is 146.0 lbs, down 9lbs in 5 weeks! I have met my first WW goal of losing 5% of my body weight. Now we’re onto 10%. The weight to hit is now 139.5 lbs. The mid-130s is where I would ideally like to land at the end of the weight loss. The sad news in all of this is that I lost a food-point for reaching this goal. Boo…
But some more good news, I’m officially down a jean size from a 10 to an 8. The 8s are even getting loose on me. I tried on some of my jeans in a size 6 hidden in the back of my closet. Surprisingly I can fit in them. They don’t look great yet, but they would work if I was slacking on laundry duty.
Here’s to loosing more weight, being healthy, and praying my dress arrives before Feb 17 so I can get a fitting in before my girls-only trip to the Big Easy! There’s no WW in New Orleans.

Life update
Last week there really wasn’t much to update everyone on. Things were calm, cool, and collected around our house two weeks ago. We very much enjoyed it. So much so that I put off doing any house work or laundry, which is what consumed my precious weekend. This past week was a total change from the previous week. I made steady head-way on the wedding front (details coming Wednesday), cleaned the house-ish (I got everything picked up and put in its place. The house just needs to be vacuumed and moped, which shouldn’t take too long.), and attempted to drive myself nuts.
Here’s how to make Kristin crazy:
Add the following ingredients and you’re bound to make any person crazy.
1 part wedding nearing the 100 day mark
1 part interviewing for a new position at work
1 part second interview for new position
1 part financial review and budgeting overhaul
1 part deciding to buy a new home (this lead to the financial part)
There you have it, the perfect concoction to make anyone loose it for a little while. To say the least I am attempting to change just about everything to do with my life. We are getting everything together and will hopefully be putting in an offer on a house this week. Exciting! We’re super excited but still really nervous and trying hard not to get our hopes up. The same with the job position at work, which I’m pretty sure I won’t be getting. It’s a little bit of a bummer, but I had to make it known that I am interested in moving up in the company and want bigger things.
The next few weeks and months are going to be a little crazy and definitely hectic, but I’m ready for it. I’m ready for the change (normally I would be fairly against) and want it.

Wedding Wednesday
I can't believe Wednesday is already here and about to be over with. Time is flying by and this wedding is going to be here before we know it.
Updates for the week:
•finished registry for BB&B
•reserved signs for chairs and tables
•organizing everything. This is still a work in progress that is all over our garage.
•candy buffet/favor bags stickered
•sparkler send off bucket filled with styrafoam and topped with moss
•more work on the invitations. They are starting to come together, just a few more steps and they will be done. Definitely a labor of love
I had a question about utensil bags. We are having Eco-friendly disposable plasticware. To jazz them up I purchased some tall and thin white paper bags. I then stamped them a pic of a fork, spoon, and knife. Like the bags that Chuy's puts their silverware in.
Everything is starting to come together and I'm starting to see my vision come to life. Very exciting.
Maybe next week I'll have a photo update of everything.

Weight watchers
Time for another weekly update of my weight. This week's weight is 148.0. Only a 1 pound difference from last week. I was really good about using minimal flex points all week but I still made some so-so decissions. Saturday I went downtown with the girls for drinks and a few. I really haven't had much, if any alcohol while on WW so I think I may have shocked the system a little bit.
This week we are starting up the cardio and light weights at the gym. Then starting in March I'll be going to some of the classes twice a week to increase the cardio and toning.
So there's the plan, we'll see how well it all works. So far I'm pretty darn happy with the results. I'm down a pants size and I feel better about the way I look.

Wedding Wednesdays
Another weekly thing to add to my list. You all are going to know all about life with all of these updates.
I'll make this one short and sweet with bullets.
*finalized car service to and from the venue on wedding day.
*stamped all of my utensil bags
*embossed all of the invitations
*gathered supplies for all remaining DIY items. I'm hoping to have these completed by mid February
*bachlorette/birthday adventure to New Orleans planned and booked!
*purchased dresses for mothers
*sent shoes in for dying
More to come next week!

Weight watchers
I decided at Christmas with 5 months to go till the wedding it was time to get serious about weight loss. I had tried to watch my food choices and excerising 4 times a week, but with little results. So I decided to give WW a try and so far I couldn't be happier with the results. To keep myself accountable I'm going to be completely honest and post my actual weight and weight loss on here every Tuesday.
Week 1: December 28
Starting weight 155lbs
This week probably wasn't the smartest week to start with New Years and all. I made it work into my points glass of bubbly and all. I may have used all of my flex points but whatevs
Week 2: January 4
Weight 152.2 lbs very exciting loss of 2.8 lbs
Week 3: January 11
Weight 150.2 lbs. Loss of 2 lbs
Week 4: January 18
Weight 149.0 lbs. Loss of 1.2 lbs
This weight is super exciting in that I reached my first goal of being under 150 lbs and losing over 5 lbs!
I'm trying to take this in small goals of 5 lbs at a time. This way I can reach my goals quicker and not feel as easily defeated. Now, my ultimate goal is be around 137 by the wedding in just under 4 months. I think I can do this! I haven't added any exercising to the mix just yet. I don't do early mornings and until recently I didn't get out of work till 6ish. So hopefully this will get me through to my next goal of 145!

Weekend Recap
I just added the blogpress app to my iPhone, so there is limited excuses for not updating now!
So this weekend was pretty slow. A lot was accomplished on the wedding front, lots of laziness, a little bit of shopping, and unfortunantly limited time with Carl. Carl did overnight gigs Friday and saturday night which meant he slept all day on Saturday and Sunday. It allowed me to spend some quality time with my mom running errands and bonding with the puppy.
Hope all had a wonderful weekend!

Hiatus
I know it has been a long time and I had previously tried to be better about blogging. That was a big fat fail!
A quick update of our lives and what has kept me away from you. No photos right now. Maybe there will be a photo update as well.
November
*Carl's Christmas present arrived a little early. I got him an English Bulldog puppy. We named her Faith. While we love her to pieces, I was in a little bit of puppy shock when we first got her. I didn't know how to handle this. It took a few weeks of adjustment but now all is good with the world.
*Thanksgiving. We stayed in town, mostly because I had to work the next day (boo). Had Thanksgiving with Carl's parents and then went and saw some of my family later in the day.
December
*Trying to fit Christmas shopping in all of the chaos that was our life.
*Started a co-ed softball team.
*Nutcracker performance by Ballet Austin. This was part of my Christmas present from Carl. I absolutely loved this. It reminded me of being a little kid and getting all dressed up to go see the pros put on the Nutcracker.
*Christmas was a traveling one. Christmas Eve we went to a bad sweater party with Carl's family. Christmas day we went to Carl's parent's house to exchange gifts. Part of my present from Carl was a Nikon P90X. I love this camera, though I haven't played with it as much as I would like. In the evening we traveled to Tyler to see my mom and her side of the family. The next day we drove home and relaxed.
*New Years. Started Weight Watchers the Monday before New Years. I thought it was the dumbest move ever at first for choosing that week to start, but I made it all work within my points. 2 1/2 weeks in and I'm already down 5 lbs. I'm super excited with the results. It is definitely making me make better decisions about what to eat. We decided to throw a New Years Eve party. It was wonderful to see old friends that we hadn't seen in years.
January
*Mild freak-out about the wedding coming up. This led to one massive list of things to do. The list continues to grow but it gives me direction on what to do. I have started on the invitations and have made pretty good headway on them. My dress is scheduled to arrive early February. I'm so excited to have all of my girls see this bad boy.
*National Championship Game. It was disappointing to loose and I feel horrible for the newly engaged Colt McCoy to go out the way he did, but I'm super excited for the 2010 season. Gilbert made my fears of how the Freshman will handle being the leader of the team.
*Being sick. Which is why I'm posting at 3:45pm on a Wednesday. Boo.

Boo.

Neighbors
When we moved into our condo community over 4 years ago we hoped to become great friends with our neighbors. This grand idea of having neighborhood block parties and $5 wine nights floated in my head. From the first week of our life in this neighborhood this idea was shot to hell. And I'm talking about the deepest depths of hell...all by one woman. Over the years we have learned to just ignore her complaints against us (some bordering harassment and discrimination) and move on with our quiet existence here. We are fairly good acquaintances with the two ladies next to us, which has made things a little easier.
About a year and a half ago a gay-couple bought a unit across from us, but never fully moved into it until 3 months ago. And from that moment they have been causing us issues. Calling in complaints for rules that don't exist (and our stupid management company sending us a violation notice for said non-existent rule) and joining the other woman in some what harassing and discriminating complaints. About a week later I noticed some violations and took some photos of them with the intent to send them in. A day later I found out through the grapevine that one of the gentlemen just passed away. So I decided not to send in the photos to be nice and not add that to the poor guy's situation.
After tonight screw that shit. Screw trying to be nice and compassionate and neighborly. That just flew way out the window and is now on it's way the icy regions of the North.
We had two friends over to watch a movie and have pizza. One of our friends parked in the space next to this gentleman's unit. We have no assigned parking in our complex. When our friend leaves we see that the guy has intentionally parked his car behind our friend's and in a fire lane. After knocking on the door to ask him to move the guy refuses, so we tell him that we will be calling 311 to have it towed. After this he moves it, but with lots of cursing, vulgar gestures and threats. When he does move the car he flicks off Carl and our friend while honking his horn at them. I immediately call our management company and leave a message with them as well as writing a very unhappy/angry email to them requesting immediate response on Monday morning.
I'm tired of this and I'm not letting it roll off of my shoulders any longer. We're standing up for ourselves! While, I know you can't pick your neighbors and most times when you move it's a crap shoot as to what kind you will get. I think we got the shit end of the stick in these.
Rant done.

Long time no see!
It has been a loooooooong time since I last posted. Life has been a little crazy, but tons of fun. I believe bullet points are the best way to catch everyone up.
Wedding Front:
*Had second engagement party here in Austin. Amazing friends threw us a drive in movie themed party complete with giant blow up movie screen and fresh popped popcorn in their backyard. Tons of fun! Highly recommend the idea for a great party.
* Picked out hotel accommodations for guests. Radisson Hotel downtown. Super friendly and easy to communicate with.
* Save the dates hit the mail on Monday. Still missing half of my mom's list, but I was tired of waiting so those will go out at a later date.
* Started on invitation mock ups. I love love love them. Very time consuming though. Glad I have nearly 4 months to work on them.
* Finalized look for table scapes. My attempt at making antique mason jars was a big fat FAIL! They are now clear with blue ribbon wrapped around the top. Very clean looking. I'm much happier.
* Found supplies for favor bags. Now waiting for them to come back in-stock
Home/Personal:
* Been battling vertigo for the past week and a half. It is no fun. I did get a week at home, but still had to work. Darn remote access. Off to the doctor for the 3rd time in a week tomorrow.
* Finished our office/guest bedroom make over. It is now "my" room. A huge transformation from what it was. Pictures later.
* Sea World excursion with MIL and BIL and his fiancee. It was nice, but I don't recommend going on a Sunday with work looming the next day.
* Organized the garage. YAY!
* Joined a softball league with Carl and some of his co-workers. I suck at this, but I give it a go every week.
*Trying to set some personal and work related goals to accomplish in the coming months. I'm pretty excited by my list.
*Deciding on when going back to school will happen. Definitely within the next 3-5 years and definitely before we have kids.
Work:
* Busy, busy, busy. I work in product distribution side of retail and Thanksgiving/Christmas is looming around the corner, enough said.
* Loving my job even with all of the extra work.
* Enjoying the samples that come in that we aren't going to be carrying. Carl loves them too, since he is a big kid and I work for a game/toy company.

Friday Night
Most Friday nights I'm all for a good time with friends.
Tonight is a different story...I'm sitting on the couch watching a movie, wrapped up in my down comforter, and I'm in absolute heaven!
I've had offers to go out and probably should but this is exactly what I want to do tonight.
Have a great weekend!
Hook 'em Horns!

Stress
We all endure its pain at some point. Some have more than others. It can come from many things; that laundry list of things to do around the house, bills, major deadlines at work, wedding planning, or you have absolutely no clue.
I seem to be falling into this last category lately. I have no clue what is causing the stress, but I know it’s there. I think this stresses me out even more. I feel great about work, granted we moved to longer hours last week and it was a little difficult to transition, but nothing horrible. Wedding planning is moving right along. We booked our baker and florist in the past two weeks and we’re starting on hotel blocks and registries. Bills are under control. House work is a little bit of a pain in the rear, but when is it not. We are in the midst of a few house projects but fun and exciting things. We’re adding more storage and organization to the garage and painting and redecorating our office/guestroom. It’s time to move out of the college/bachelor pad look.
There are also physical manifestations that stress tends to take on. For the lucky ones it is in the form of weight loss, a want for more food, a lack of energy, or an headache. For me it is an eye twitch. This darn eye twitch has been going on for the past 5 days. Just a random friggin’ eye twitch that comes and goes. My boss swears that it is due to the wedding planning or a lack of potassium. He’s not quite sure which the culprit is. He had one that came while he was planning his wedding and then disappeared after. I hope that this is the case, but I don’t think that I can put up with this for the next 8 months.
Hope you all had a great weekend and were able to let go of some stress!

Birthdays!
I'm so sorry bloggy world for neglecting you. I've had lots of post worthy events going on, just the lack of motivation and memory to get around to making it happen...
C just had his birthday on the 29th so we celebrated by having a little shin dig at the house. I cleaned my little heart out before hand. I was one motivated girl to attempt to get my home into tip-top shape for the event. Until my steam mop died on me. Boo... It was a sad ending, but thanks to the BBB's wonderful return policy I now have the newest Shark steam mop.

Back to the point of this post...
A great time was had by all. There were presents, guacamole, fajitas, salsa, queso, jello shots, and Hey Cupcake! Everyone was excited about the cupcakes. I was totally into the birthday party mood I even decorated the house with streamers and balloons. C was happy about his new game for the Wii, so much so that he got it a week before his birthday. I was going to make him hold on to it until the actual date, but I wanted to play it too.
The other guy in my life also had his birthday. To be exact the day after C's.
So a trip to Pets Mart to was in store (also a week early, I fail at keeping gifts until the actual day to give them). We went straight to the toy aisle. "What should we get him this year?" running through our minds. Last year he got a doggie edible cake from a local bakery. That was good and all, but a little pricey for him to spend a whole 0.00002 seconds appreciating before scarfing it down. We contemplated over the usual Monkey Squeak toy that he loves. (I don't know if "love" is the best word here, since he now has a pile of amputated or decapitated monkeys in his toy box. He plays a little rough.) Monkey just wasn't going to fit the bill this year and I'm tired of sewing monkey bits and pieces back together. Then I remembered reading about Jill and her new puppy Kylie and the purchase of a Kong. And then I saw one in the store. They had a little mini Kong for JD's size. It was so cute sitting there all small and tini next to the XL Kong for the big dogs. Then we saw the breath freshener Kong gunk (as C likes to refer to it as). We knew instantly that this was THE birthday present for our little dude. (JD has some bad breath. I don't know where it comes from. All he eats is Kibbles and little peanut butter flavor treats.)
Sure enough after filling it with bits of his favorite peanut butter treats and the Kong gunk our dog disappeared for the evening. It has now become his favorite toy ever! We have to hide it around bedtime or all he will do is play with it.

Life Update
Work:
Today was some major blah and emotional. One of my co-workers in my department passed away on Friday very unexpectedly. So, we're all trying to cope while still gearing up for season to officially start in 3 weeks. There is a lot going on. Our new intern starts on Monday which means more training in my future.
Personal/Home Life:
Pretty good. JD had an upset tummy from a bone that he loves a few days ago. He was very sad to see me take it away from him. I finally found time to really clean my house. All that it took was strangers to be coming to my house to interview me. Lots and lots of fun things in-store this week. Round Rock Express game tomorrow night with C's family, Wicked on Wednesday with my mom, C's mom's b-day on Thursday, and C's softball tournament on Saturday. Very busy. Full review of Wicked coming! Next week I have to travel to the oh-so-wonderful town of Bryan, TX to testify in a drunk driving accident. I was so stressed about this and I still am. I know I didn't do anything wrong, but it's still nerve wracking. Gahh...
Wedding:
I got a lot done this weekend. Trying to get my mind off of the events going on at work I focused on wedding planning.

3. Got two floral quotes
4. Ordered my garter (etsy you rock!)
5. Designed and ordered save the dates
6. Picked out the ties for the boys.
7. Went shopping and ordered the bridesmaids dresses
8. Picked out where we are going for the bachlorette party and then second guessed it...Another post topic
9. Picked out the suits for the guys
10. Saving the best for last... I ordered my beautiful dress!!!! {Jumping around and squealing inserted here} 6 months till this amazing dress is in my possession.
